We are delighted to announce we have received a much-needed funding boost from the Red Nose Day – Evening Standard Dispossessed Fund. We have been awarded £8,660 to fund our part-time Toy Library Co-ordinator and to renew toy and book stocks in the Library.

As well as running the popular weekly Stay-and-Play and toy-borrowing sessions for under fives, our Co-ordinator provides essential administrative support for our BBC Children in Need funded Outreach Service to disadvantaged families across the borough.

For many years the Toy Library has been largely self-funded through fundraising activities organised by our small team of dedicated volunteers. We have cut costs dramatically and cash reserves have been dipped into. This funding is therefore a much needed and very welcome boost.

We acknowledge the support of The London Community Foundation in accessing this grant.

This is great news at the start of a new year in the Toy Library and we are looking forward to exciting times ahead.
