We have been selected for the Tesco Bags of Help scheme

Tesco bags of Help

We are delighted to have been selected as one of the three groups in the current round of voting to receive money raised from the sale of plastic bags at Tesco stores across the borough of Greenwich.

During January and February this year, you can vote for Charlton Toy Library using the charity tokens that are given out when you shop at any Tesco in the borough.

The winning charity or group will receive £4,000, the runner-up will receive £2,000 and third place will receive £1,000.

The Toy Library needs new toys and child safety equipment, promotional materials so that we can reach more vulnerable families in the borough and first aid training for volunteers… so please vote for us when shopping.

What is the Bags for Help scheme?

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 – all raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores – being awarded to local community projects.

Bags of Help offers community groups and projects across the UK a share of revenue generated from carrier bag sales in Tesco store. The public will now vote in store until 28th February 2018 on who should receive the awards. Here is a link to  their website     www.tesco.com/bagsofhelp.
