Come along and chat to Heidi about your child’s health development and find out
information about looking after your child’s teeth. Getting your child into a
good oral health routine at a young age will ensure they continue to have good
teeth when they are older.

Pamper Evening:

We will be repeating this amazingly successful event in February 2012.

Local businesses donate for Pampered Chef Evening

On Friday 18th November we held a Pampered Chef evening at the Toy Library. We cleared away the toys, set up tables and spent the evening making desserts… and eating them!! We had a delicious time… and raised some much-needed funding in the process too.

Thanks to Ottie and the Bea, Theatre Bugs, Boppin’ Bunnies, Pistachios Cafe, Go West and Jeanette from Pampered chef who contributed to our Pampered Chef raffle. We also have raffle tickets up for sale at the stay and play sessions for the Christmas Raffle to be drawn on Friday 16 December.

Pampered Chef is the direct seller of premier kitchen tools.

Opening hours

We welcome children 0-5 years on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9.30-12.30; please note that we are open during term time only. (Click here to view Greenwich Council term dates).

Special sessions

We hold regular music sessions on Thursdays with Jo, start time 10.30 till 11.00.
The sessions are free of charge for members, but donations are welcome!

How much can you raise?

Spend £100 with M&S online or Amazon and you raise £2.50 for us. £100 with WH Smith puts £2.00 in our pocket and so on. There’s over 2,000 retailers on their site, and some of the donations can be as much as 15% of your purchase.

On behalf of all our members, we would like to say a huge thank you to Blackheath Prep School Nursery PTA for their very kind donation of £586. This is the second donation that they have made to the Toy Library this year. Their generosity will help us to continue our services at Chalrton House and to keep our much-needed mobile outreach van going.

Charlton Toy Library is not part of Greenwich Council or any Leisure Library. It is an independent voluntary group which has to secure its own funding. That’s why fundraising is a vital part of the Toy Library’s day to day running.

This year and last year many organisations have supported the Toy Library:

Along with them, we have also been supported by our members and friends who have taken part in sporting events, our Pamper Evening and other events to help raise funds. Many have very kindly donated money through the simple-to-use Virgin Money Giving site.

Toy Library open every Thursday during August…

We are normally closed during summer holidays but this year, for the first time ever, we are trialling summer opening. We will be open every Thurday in August from 9.30-12.30: Thursday 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th August. Members can borrow toys, books and games as usual as well as use the play areas. These sessions will be run by our very experienced volunteers. Our Outreach Worker will not be available at these times.
