Corona Virus Update

Last updated on March 13, 2020

Update: As lock-down measures are being eased, we are delighted to announce that we will be opening with our new ‘book’ and ‘borrow’ system from 9 July.

To find out how it works please read our FAQs.

In light of recent developments, it is with enormous regret that the CTL trustees have decided it is no longer possible to guarantee the health and safety of Toy Library staff, volunteers and members, and we must therefore close for the foreseeable future.

We will keep you all posted on any changes to this situation. If you currently have toys and equipment on loan there is no need to worry about returning them. You won’t be charged for any extended borrowing time.

We wish you and your family all the best.

Kind Regards,
The Charlton Toy Library Team

Please keep an eye on this page and on our Facebook page for more updates.

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak we have taken some measures to ensure the safety of our members, volunteers and staff:

• We have installed a hand sanitiser dispenser by the front door – please wash your hands with water and soap when you arrive and before you leave, or use the hand sanitiser
• We have replaced hand towels with disposable paper towels
• We steam clean all toys and floors in the stay and play area after each session
• As usual, we use antibacterial wipes to clean all returned toys before putting them back in the borrowing rooms

Out of respect for our staff, volunteers and fellow toy library users, please do not attend the Toy Library if you are experiencing any of the Covid-19 symptoms or if you have been in contact with anyone who has the symptoms. The symptoms are:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough

We will be in touch if we have any updates.
