Help Us Help Families In Need This Christmas

xmas food donation appeal poster2018JPG

It’s that time of year again! Over the last several years Charlton Toy Library and its Outreach Service have been providing Christmas Food Hampers and presents to some of our Outreach families. It is an important tradition of ours as, without it, many of our families may have nothing at Christmas. We pride ourselves on putting smiles on the faces of the parents who know there will be food for their family, and of the children who are given a gift they may not have had otherwise. However, we can’t do this without YOUR HELP! We rely on your donations. Please help us make a family’s Christmas this year.

Any of the the following is much appreciated:

  • Canned food – soup/beans/fruit/vegetables/sauces
  • Pasta/Rice/Couscous
  • Cereal/Crisps/Biscuits/Jam/Spreads
  • Tea/Coffee/Hot Chocolate/Sugar
  • Chocolates/Puddings/Treats

(Please ensure the best before date isn’t before 2019 )

We are taking donations at Charlton House until Thursday 22nd November. No donation is too small!

For more information or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in contact at

Thank you.

Thank you to…

Charlton Toy Library is not part of Greenwich Council or any Leisure Library. It is an independent voluntary group which has to secure its own funding. That’s why fundraising is a vital part of the Toy Library’s day to day running.

This year and last year many organisations have supported the Toy Library:

Help a Capital Child (HACC)

Lloyds TSB

Blackheath Nursery and Preparatory School PTA

The Westcombe Society

Thorntree Primary School

Along with them, we have also been supported by our members and friends who have taken part in sporting events, our Pamper Evening and other events to help raise funds. Many have very kindly donated money through the simple-to-use Virgin Money Giving site.

If you want to help or get involved, call us on 020 8319 0055 or e-mail us at
